EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR

Trout action is getting even better since the days have started cooling off. Cooler weather moving through is making it prime fishing any time of day. Trout will hit night crawlers and spinners. Bass will hit crankbaits later in the day. As aquatic vegetation thins out, fish will be more active toward the shoreline. The launch ramp is still closed to boats with trailers. Please check the State Parks website for more information

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR

Check the weather conditions before heading up. There is a chance of light rain over the weekend.  Nighttime lows are projected to get down to freezing next week. The water level will remain low creating muddy shorelines. Rainbow trout and bass are taking a variety of lures, flies, and bait. Check for topwater action to see if the fish are rising or holding down low.

LAKE MEAD

Reports of black bass catches are coming in from Callville Bay and Echo Bay. The fish are attacking spinners, soft plastics and topwater lures. Temple Bar is producing striped bass upwards of 10 pounds. Smaller fish in the 2- to 3-pound range are taking anchovies and soft plastics in shad patterns at Kingman Wash and Government wash. Catfish are hitting anchovies and stink baits fished overnight from shore.

LAKE MOHAVE

On the reservoir black bass are showing a preference for topwater baits in the early morning. Striper action is picking up from Cottonwood Cove to Davis Dam. Topwater baits, soft plastics on jig heads, and anchovies have proven effective for anglers. Shore anglers are reporting bluegill action just above the dam when using worms. With cooler early morning temperatures, the rainbow trout bite is expected to pick up at Willow Beach. For catfish action, try fishing anchovies from the fishing pier overnight.

LAUGHLIN

Boaters are reportedly catching their limit of striped bass using anchovies. Most of the action is being reported near the Big Bend State Recreation Area with fish weighing between 1 and 3 pounds. One angler caught a larger fish, measuring 35 ½ inches, using a glide bait. Rainbow trout plants are expected within the coming weeks as the temperature begins to drop.

 WAYNE E. KIRCH WMA

Cold afternoon winds are bringing in some cooler weather. This weekend will bring freezing temperatures so go prepared for the possibilities if planning to camp. Fishing will be good for trout throughout the day. Olive and red flies and lures are recommended to entice trout and bass.

URBAN PONDS

Anglers are finding good action for catfish. The fish are  taking hotdogs and small shrimp. Young anglers have had fun catching small bluegill with meal worms and night crawler pieces. Just a reminder, there are yellow recycle bins for unwanted or discarded fishing line and tackle at some ponds. Please use them or the trash receptacles.
