The upper portion of the reservoir is covered by a thin sheet of ice most of the day. The best access for shore fishing is off the main shoreline or dam. Anglers are using rainbow PowerBait and night crawlers below a water bobber for trout. For up-to-date conditions, contact Spring Valley State Park at 775-962-5102 or check the park’s Facebook page.
