At Bartlett Lake, an angler reported on the Fish AZ Facebook page that he caught 57 bass during an outing two weeks ago. Nineteen were caught via topwater from the bank using a River2Sea Monky Butt colored Whopper Plopper and a Strike King bone colored popper from about 5:30 to 8 a.m. From 8-11 a.m., the fish moved deeper and further out but were still corralling shad at the surface. There he switched to a WARBAITS 3/8-ounce yellow-headed underspin with a DoLive Shad 3.5” white paddle tail and started bombing the boils, which landed another 38. He found about a 100-yard stretch of bank that was “on fire,” and he said he practically sprinted and pitched bait for 5 1/2 hours.
